At 8.00am we bgan the process of extracting 107 from it's home for the past 35 years by laying out 13 feet of temporary track in front of the garage.

After considerable effort and eventually towing the tram using my old climbing rope and Paul's car we got the tram to the end of the track.

The tram was then jacked up and the temporary wheels removed as well as the track.

With Jim watching anxiously the lifting gear arrived adn assembly of the frame started.

Very carefully teh tram ws then lifted, first up a foot, then forward 3 feet to clear the garage and finally toward the lorry.

Blocks were then put under it and the lifting gear carefully packed away befoer the body was secured to the lorry.

In heavy rain the tram then travelled down York Road replicating it's original journey up to where it has been restored.

It then arrived at the Moor Road headquarters.of the Middleton Railway Trust.

Again under Jim's watchful eye it was carefully moved onto an accommodation trolley then connected up to a diesel shunter before beginning it's first proper rail journey since 1901.

It moved up the works yard between teh Engine House and the workshop at a stately 1mph being watched very carefully all the way.

After traversing some poinwork it was then pushed by hand back into the Engine House to be wiped dry. \\\\\\\\\
